Towards the end of each year, I begin to feel stir crazy thinking of the travel opportunities in the coming year. I’m raring to go again!
Personally, I love new years because with them come new beginnings. I love thinking in terms of possibilities for the future. The new year provides a blank canvas to create the life I desire in the coming months. November & December, although typically less adventurous & more low key compared to other months, are the perfect months to pour all of my stir crazy energy into planning for next phases of life.
I’m writing this blog post to share my exciting 2018 plans in hopes that you will be inspired to follow along with me & possibly begin planning your own adventures.
I’ve mentioned in a previous blog post that I’ll be touching down on the final continent, Australia, in January of 2018! My journeys across North & South America, Europe, Southeast Asia, Antarctica & my short time in Africa were incredible & awe-inspiring. I have no doubt that Australia will exceed expectations, too.
I have a one way ticket to Cairns & I’ll be diving at the Great Barrier Reef for a few days in mid January– a dream since I was in 4th grade! After diving, I will, once again, go where the wind takes me. This is how I operate best. Australia is a goldmine of opportunities & adventures & I have 3 full months to explore.
In April, I’ll be back in Texas for my best friend’s wedding. I’m thankful to spend an entire month recuperating & surrounding myself with friends & family back home. While there, I’ll also set up to transition into a new life phase. I’m working on acquiring a camper van so that I can road trip from Texas to Alaska in May!
I just found out the company I contract for, Career Staff Rx, has a branch in Alaska! I’ve decided to spend the summer living out of my camper van in Alaska & picking up whatever pharmacy work is available. There’s no limit to the number of adventures I can get into up there.
After the weather changes in Alaska, I’ll head south again. I’m currently without a direction, post Alaska, but I dream of experiencing a New England fall before making a beeline to warmer weather. Who knows where I’ll end up? I’m open to all of the possibilities for the future & will take each new experience as it comes.
As this blog evolves, my desire is that it will shift into life & tales from my camper van. Please follow for email updates & share your 2018 plans in the comments so that we may all be inspired to live fully & more adventurously.
Cheers!
